H. dulcis contains a variety of biologically active compounds (antioxidants, flavonoids) including hovenia-based saponin derivatives, dammarane-type triterpene, hodulosides, and flavonoids hovenodulinol, hovenitins I, II and III, -catechin,(+)-afzelechin, dihydrokaempferol,...,Quercetin,Taxifolin, Myricetin, Dihydromyricetin (DHM, or Ampelopsin).* (2)

DHM (Ampelopsin) and Hovenia:
Hovenia dulcis is known as a permier source of DHM, however, its naturally occuring level in fruit is low,
and safe. In compliance with KFDA requirements,
LifeTree do not pursue highly concentrated DHM
due to its molecular structural characteristics.
